Spitz' Summer Watchlist: Comedy
Silicon Valley:
This show seems like it has all and is perfect for my summer watchlist. Thomas Middleditch and Kumail Nanjiani are always hilariously funny and I think it would be really cool to see how Silicon Valley launched both of their careers. As well, TJ Miller, prior to all of his controversy, is a member of the awesome ensemble. Overall, I’m really excited to watch this.
Where to Watch: HBO Max
Veep:
Veep ended just last year and from many reviews seems to be a modern classic with an awesome ensemble. I’ve been meaning to watch this show for years, especially because Seinfeld and Arrested Development are both phenomenal shows that are raised by the talent that both Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Tony Hale possess. Veep performed phenomenally well on the award show circuit with an outstanding 13 total Emmy wins over a seven-season run.
Where to Watch: HBO Max
Scrubs:
Scrubs was a staple of 2000s culture and ran for a surprising nine seasons. Zach Braff made a name for himself on this show and was the real star among an awesome cast. This is one of the more forgotten shows of the era that was full of juggernauts like The Office and 30 rock. I tell people all the time that I really want to watch Scrubs and I think this is the summer I’ll finally do it.
