Football Recruit Update - July 4th Edition
Football is so American, it’s only fitting that America’s birthday is a huge day for high schoolers to commit. Let’s talk about some the biggest ones.
Keanu Koht is a 4 star DE from Vero Beach, FL. He’s the number 10 WDE in the class of 2021 and he’s taking his talents to Baton Rouge. Most people expect the tigers to take a step back from their national championship season, so this is a huge pick up for them.
Les Miles got a huge signing with 4 star WR Keon Coleman. He’s the number 14 wideout for 2021. He’s also on scholarship to play basketball at Kansas. Everyone is sleeping on the Jayhawks, but Miles is turning things around.
This next guy didn’t commit on July 4th but it was close enough. Mac Brown is making UNC a new powerhouse. 5 star CB Tony Grimes picked the Tar Heels over Ohio State and Georgia. Grimes is the number 1 CB in the class of 2021, and he joins the number 3 best recruiting class.
Caleb Williams was the biggest name to commit on July 4th. The number 1 QB and Elite 11 MVP from DC narrowed his top 3 to Oklahoma, LSU, and hometown Maryland. As a Maryland student, I was hopeful he’d stay, but Lincoln Riley is truly the QB whispere. Williams will now join a stacked Sooner quarterback room, sitting behind Spencer Rattler for the next few seasons.
All of these guys are game changers who you will definitely be hearing about in a few years.
