An Honest Review: Psych 2: Lassie Come Home
As someone who is an actually "psycho" and can literally recite the entirety of Psych: The Movie. I have been waiting a long, long time for the sequel/continuation of the psych story to come out. After finally watching the movie on the NBC streaming app, Peacock, I was not disappointed. The movie did not miss a beat and felt exactly the same as it was. James Roday and Dule Hill are once again on point as dynamic duo Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster. The two do not miss a beat as all of their old bits and jokes they have been doing for 10 years still feels fresh even with jokes referencing the 90's. They movie does a fantastic job addressing Timothy Omundson's stroke by writing it into his characters story arc. The movie deals with Shawn and Gus teaming up with Omundson's Carlton Lassiter by trying to figure out who attempted to Murder him. Helping Shawn and Gus along the way are the rest of the original cast from Shawns now wife Juliet (played by Maggie Lawson), Chief of Police Karen Vick (Kirsten Nelson), former Coroner Woody (Kurt Fuller), and Shawns Dad Henry (Corbin Bersen). This new version of Psych also guest stars Joel McHale, Sarah Chalke, Jazmyn Simon, and brings back fan favorite characters like Mary Lightly (Jimmi Simpson) and now detective Buzz Mcnab (Sage Brocklebank). While I do not think it is as good as the first sequel movie is, it still doesn't miss a beat and shows how good this show is, even with being off air since 2014. Psych 2 is a fun movie whether or not you are a fan of the show. It also semi answers the cliff-hanger at the end of the first movie about Shawn, Gus and Juliettes brother going to Norway on the run from special agents. So my rating for Psych 2: Lassie Come Home...
Wait for it..........
